Today we have finished the installation of the “flying” mechanism within Éclair, the first of our Vox to receive such an invention.

Gideon was the one there when she woke up a changed Vox. He asked her to jump just a bit higher, and like a child with a new jump rope, she landed and looked at Gideon with such a wide smile. Can I really, she seemed to ask. Is this just for me?
The mechanism works with a type of pair of opposing magnets.
It seemed to work just fine, but Éclair still lost her balance every now and then. Gideon furrowed his brow in that way he’s famous for and had her go back to sleep. She didn’t want to. “Just for a bit more?” she asked. But he insisted in that kind, soft voice of his, and she is not one to push back on such things, especially with him.
Gideon will begin to work out the kinks in the system before installing them on the rest of the Vox, but so far he seems pleased with how the system is coming along and is eager to push the Vox to their new limits.
